The Island

lyrics

Clouds are breaking,

wild waters wake,

and the moon reflects on the tide.

A storm is brewing,

boat begins to sway,

but on the shore, the madder men lie.

A figure stands on the horizon,

the sky alights and thunder strikes the air.

A darkened presence says ride the tide girl,

all of a sudden the boat begin to turn.

A girl arrives on the rocky shores and stranded.

Her only light, a spinning tower of hope.

A broken boat, the sound of rolling thunder.

She climbs ahead, away from stormy seas.

Following the starlight she hears a crowded noise,

She happens on a harbour, and a bar brimming with joy.

A sudden stifled silence, she walks up to the bar.

"I'm looking for my father, could he have passed through here at all?""

A stranger from the shore line, 'bout 20 years ago.

""We do not know his name but be lives in the hills alone."

"Seal your tongue", cried a voice in the crowd.

“Can't you see she's just a girl?"

Don't you go filling her head with nonsense,

We haven't see no one like that here.

"Best be off”, you really don't belong here,

you never know who might be listening".

Far too late,

the girl was on her way there, she only smiled as she was running."

A figure stands on the horizon,

the sky alights and thunder strikes the air.

A darkened presence says ride the tide girl, all of a sudden the boat begin to turn.

...and the moon reflects on the tide, but on the shore, the madder men lie...
